The area around Lake Myvatn and the Krafla volcano has all sorts of lava fields with some crazy lava colors (the most recent activity was in the 1970s), steam vents and other geothermal fun. It also had one of my favorite hot springs - similar to the blue lagoon in color, but a bit less crowded/chaotic.

It's 45 meters high and 100 meters wide, and so large that it's hard to view both dimensions - you can visit the falls from the east or west side (requires a long drive around) - the east side provides more of a view of the height and you can climb over rocks to get frighteningly close; the west side provides more of a view of the width.

I completely messed up on this one - you can hike from the east or west...and for some unknown reason, I chose the west which definitely doesn't have the best view...
