Another beautiful day. We started with a cup of coffee and yogurt then returned to the room to pack. The pop star must have been leaving, because there was a group of girls facing the hotel instead of the driveway this time. Still wonder who she is.
We had lovely spa treatments – aromatherapy wrap for me, and aromatherapy massage and bath for Kyla.
Then we took the metro and bus to the airport … the bus was very crowded, mostly because of a group of American youths. It was very easy trip to the airport. We got our rental car then grabbed a takeaway Panini at a café. Then we hit the road!
The first 50 kilometres or so were on the M-road, then we got off and took the rural route through farmland and some deciduous forest. There was a quite a bit of construction on the first bit, but mostly no one was working today, as it is a Sunday. We passed many motorbikes, enjoying the lovely day and curvy road. The only downer was the number of fields being burned, so the smoke was fairly dense at times. I don't anticipate a lot of trouble hiking
tomorrow, but my eyes itch a bit.
We arrived Aggtelek and found our guest house without a problem. We needed to call them, but they came right away. It is a lovely guest house, with a large back garden and a hot tub. Our host showed us the ropes, briefly, and then we went into the tub.
After a brief soak, we dressed and walked towards what look like a church tower but was just a tower. There was something that might have been a small grocery but it was closed. So we walked down a perpendicular road, towards the start of the tourist site … and a gyro stand was open! We bought a pita gyro each and a bottle of water. Then we walked back to our guest house and sat in the garden, eating our dinner and chatting.
It started getting cool around 8pm, so we went back inside to read and relax the rest of the evening.
