Corfu to Athens

Tents were packed down early for our morning ferry trip back to Igomenitsa. It was only a bit further down the highway that we travelled across the Corinth Canal. On the road-side was an adventures store, and one of our tour members decided to make the most of the canal’s 100 metre vertical height and did a bungy jump off the bridge! Lachie captured the moment on camera while Sheree stood in amazement with sweaty palms from the very thought of jumping off a bridge!
We arrived in Athens and spent the next day sightseeing the ancient wonders of the bustling city. The Parthenon stood so tall on the Acropolis, and other nearby temples had such intricate stone designs with some areas of marble still remaining on architraves and pillars.
On our drive through Athens we stopped to see the first modern Olympic Stadium, and then we enjoyed some free-time watching the change of guards who seemed to perform a rather choreographed dance. Very VERY different to Buckingham Palace that’s for sure!
Fun was had by all at our final group dinner – as half of the tour group finished their travels at Athens and we were to gain another 15 new members in the morning. Alcoholic beverages were cheap as chips and multiple shots ended in some very sore heads in the morning!

Hi from Albury
Change of guard photo interesting! Fellow on the right needs to lift his game a bit, foot work not quite up to scratch !! Notice there is no photo of the two of you doing a bungy jump?? Not that I blame you..... 'cause there's no way I'd be making the jump either. Love Mum XX
