Went to the Greek Island of Poros today with 3 friends.

It was pretty funny, because we had planned on going to the island of Hydra. When we got to the Port of Athens-Piraus, we asked at the ticket booth which ferry was going to Hydra. The man directed us toward a big ship getting ready to leave. So we all ran and and jumped on the ferry, they pulled up the walkway and we pulled away from the dock. Then as we were trying to buy tickets, we asked if it was indeed the ferry to Hydra? "No! going to Poros!" and the trip was going to take 3 hours instead of the 1 or 1.5 I had thought. I should have realized it wasn't the ferry to Hydra, because Hydra doesn't allow cars on the island, and the ferry we had gotten on was quite large with many cars!

Oh well! We went to the lovely little island of Poros, to a small beach with rocks instead of sand and clear blue water. We laid on the beach and swam in the sea all afternoon. We had a really interesting meal at a restaurant right by the sea- it was fabulous!

It made me forget myself- briefly- which is usually a good thing.
