I always wanted to travel and left Australia when I was 18 to travel around Europe and Asia, working on the way in London and Amsterdam, before settling down in Tel Aviv. We didn't do much travelling for years, just short family holidays in Europe, and then in 2008 we started travelling again. This travel blog starts off with our first trip to Laos and Vietnam. Lovely old stone family house with big organic gardens and fresh fish from their pond. The age of the tourist has saved many of these small mountain villages from abandonment and now the old houses are being restored and turned into restaurants, hotels and attractive places that tourists like to visit.

Originally Roman, rebuilt many times. Present bridge is probably built by the Ottomans in the 17th century. The town is supposedly scattered with ruins but we only made a brief stop on the way.

Every hour of the day has different colors and I particularly liked the morning hours when the clouds and town were reflected in the water.

You can't actually see the sunset and sunrise in Galaxidi but sky is lovely just the same

This couple have been running the Albatros restaurant next to the church in the middle of Galaxidi for many years. The home cooked food is simple and tasty at reasonable prices. Open for lunch and dinner.

The sheep?
They are always guarded by some very neglected tough looking dogs. This time there was a shepherd too. He also looked like he had a very hard life.
