huray its alex here and we are back in bloody naxos again...needless to say we are both pretty sick of tyhis island but its the go between for all the little islands. we have just spent a loverly 5 days on a smaller island iraklia which was pretty cool and remmote...stayed with a gourgous greek lady, Maria who finally gave us some greek hospitallity and grandmothered us to death with coffee and kisses ...ez isd getting itchy fingers to have a go so i gracefully take my leave (also anna i didnt get your email!!!!?? how are u hun??) oh and sorting out courses for uni over here ....exciting and freaking me out a bit Ez here... The next day I went for a walk through the streets and look at all the shops and the donkeys making their way through the steep winding hills as they made their way up the stairs... Sarah thought that there was an overwhelming smell of pepper, turned out to be donkey pepper!! Awesome view, awful smell!! Next day woke up and it was cloudy, after Arty told me that it’s NEVER cloudy in Santorini!! What’s going on there?!?!?! Had brekkie (with cake at the end!! Well here we are... made it too some bareable heat, delightful beaches and amazingly tourist orientated island! Our departing athens went according to plan, and here we are on our third day on Naxos! We caught a ferry from pyraeus in athens - about the size of a nz interislander, give or take - in the blistering heat at 5.30pm (local time) on wednesday 6th sept... Having arrived about 2 and a half hours early we were sitting in the heat constantly being talked into buying replica binoculars, sunglassers, watches and electronics; from a series of blangledeshi guys (which explained how they could wear big tops, jeans, and hats without melting), when a girl walked past carrying a delicious looking roll, I (ez) say 'mm whats she got i want one', 'oh its a french baguette ... read more

What a beautiful place! Yesterday afternoon we arrived into great weather at Mykonos. Everything is so close so we walked in & out of the little alleyways for hours exploring. Dinner was by the water at sunset. The sun doesnt set until after 8pm so plenty of time to sunbake. Which is what we did all day today. We went to Paranga Beach (lots of boobs for Kev) and the occasional naked man or woman walking around. Don't worry we kept our clothes on! ... read more
