The next morning we arrived at Santorini and again we went by tender to the port where we had the choice of going up to Santorini the town by donkey up a steep slope or by cable car - it was a no brainer! Four ships had come into Port at the same time so we had to line up for the cable car but as it took 36 at a time - 6 in each of the 6 cable cars the wait wasn't for long.

It's been 13 years since I last went to Santorini and it was lovely to be there again and show John what it was like.

Once we reached the top - you could smell the donkey's dung .... anyway we wandered around the town just a little before we came across another place offering a quad bike for rent - well since our last effort was so good we decided to do it again but wanted a bigger motor this time - the last one was only 50cc so we got one with 150cc which was a bit better.

We got a map to find the easiest way to get to Oia. There were at least a dozen buses and umpteen taxis up there when we finally arrived - we knew we would have them right behind us no matter what time we left...

We went to a lovely two storey cafe which had magnificent views over the Caladera in the Aegean sea - was really beautiful and the food and fresh juice was great too - we had a wonderful relaxing time at lunch. The views from the cafe and indeed anywhere on one side of Santorini are totally amazing. Both sides have great views but one side is very low, flat and barren while the other side is heaven.

After touring the island we stopped and did a bit of shopping and then sat at a restaurant on wifi again while we waited for the queue to get back on the cable car dissipated - but it didn't in the end so we went and joined the queue eventually and back to the ship we went.

After returning we refreshed ourselves and then met others for happy hour... as you often do onboard prior to having dinner and then we went to the show which was brilliantly
