Well here we are in Mykonos and this place is great and so different to Athens. Whereas Athens is all about the ancient past of Greece, Mykonos is very much here for the present and is a tourism mecca, especially for young people. Think "Wild On" from the E! Channel and you get the idea - the Greek Ibiza if you like. Apparently scenes from the Bourne Identity were shot here too. Yesterday morning we took a fast catamaran ferry from Athens (Pireaus) to Mykonos, including stopovers at two other islands on the way, Styros and Tinos. At the time we booked I had to repeat my name and spell it out at least twice but the guy still booked me as My Feltser - must have a stronger Nuu Zullan axsent than I thought. The ... read more

Hi from the Greek Islands, It was an interesting trip to here, we were told that we were taking a fast ferry across from Athens to Mykonos, but the person booking the ferry, not anyone on our tour, booked the slow ferry so instead of arriving at 7:30 we arrived at 10:30 which meant that the dinner we had all paid for was not there and because we had not been told what was happening there were a few tired cranky people on tour. It worked out ok in the end, we got a dinner at the restaurant down the road and managed to make up our own rooming list. All part of the fun of travelling. The resort is beautiful, white buildings, with blue doors, across the road from the beach and it has a ... read more

Well right now i'm stuck in my hotel lobby waiting to be allowed to go up to my room. We arrived in Mykonos and told the rep that we had bed bug bites and he has disallowed us to go up to our room. We are stuck in the lobby and they are calling head office to see if they should fumagate our rooms or wash them all. The bites are getting worse everyday so we don't care if we have to stay in the lobby until they sort it out. We may have to wear sheets like togas for 48 hours until the fumagation is done. haha it's acutally pretty funny but the people without bed bugs are pissed that there gonna have to pay for there laundry. Well before the outbreak we were in ... read more

Rome/ Athens/ Mykonos/ Lausanne (July 11-Aug 2) Europe in the summer.. there isn’t anything quite like it, especially as you head to the south. With the thermometer increasing steadily, forcing me into the shade during the day, I spent a few days in Rome before moving on to the hype of Greece. In my third trip to Rome, I was determined to see the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums as my previous visits had been brief. I started this trip with a comfortable overnight trip from Vienna to Rome and stayed near the old city, walking distance to most places (thank god because the taxi drivers went on strike while I was there). I found Rome generally attractive but a bit too overrun by tourists and touristy attractions. It didn’t seem to have the authentic stylish ... read more

Hey there My Blog readers Well today is our last day in Mykonos and we have done and seen a million things....walked our legs off in the maze that is the town of mykonos... (lets just say if there was an arial view we would have looked like two mice stuck in a maze and we were desperately looking for the way out. We would not be the GIFTED mice i would have to say) that was the structure of the town. Lets first talk about the wind of Mykonos. It blows ALL THE TIME. Always straight towards the beach no matter what side of the island you are on...there is no escape. So if i was going for beautiful hair to pick anyone up....it ain't going to happen. Comprende (a little italiano for you). On ... read more

Alright now lets get down to the nitty gritty. I am one bottle of vino and two shots down (one being OUZO) and I am thinking now is the time to talk Greek penis. Now at first read these words may shock some of my audience. But I believe this to be a great forum of which to talk about the underground sexual culture that I believe to be rampant in greece. Now it is from my very limited historic understanding that greek culture has always been somewhat suspect in the area of same sex ual interaction. Having been in the environment for a few days I am the furtherest thing from an authority.... "the stories" of males enjoying the company of one another is pretty common place...(.for those that know me well just chalk this ... read more

I think Jurgen is even more excited than the rest of us going on the cruise. He had us up early and ready to board the bus at 8:00 am even though the ship wasn't scheduled to leave from Piraeus (less than half an hour away) until 11:00. After another nice breakfast buffet we said goodbye to the folks that were skipping the cruise and staying another day in Athens. Boarding the bus to Piraeus was pretty nice since each one of us had our own row of seats. I don't know if our bus driver (not Niko) was confused or lost but it took us almost 45 minutes to get there. Good thing Jurgen got us up early. He was in rare form this morning. He regaled us with a couple X-rated tour guide stories ... read more

We've spent the last few days here in Mykonos with M.'s friends. We arrived in Mykonos around 8PM on Monday July 3rd, immediately felt better as the temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler than it had been in Cyprus. Also our bags made it on the same flight! It was an adventure just getting there as our flight from Cyprus had left 20 minutes late, only giving us about 50 minutes to connect in Athens, including busing from the remote stand and standing in line to get our boarding passes. M's friends S&V were there at the airport to pick us up; they were spending two weeks in Mykonos and had already been there for a few days. They took us by our hotel, the Palladium, which turned out to be a five minute walk ... read more

So we actually are in Paradise today! Paradise beach! This place is really nice, and we just moved into our new campground this morning. It was great, we checked out and Dan vespa'ed all of our luggage over to the new campground (with a huge smile on his face because FINALLY he could go the speed that I wouldn't let him go yesterday). Then we walked along the cliffs connecting the beaches to geth back. It was a beautiful morning. Our cabin is so much nicer in comparison to the other one. There is a breeze, the beds are comfy, its white and bright instead of black with no natural light. Its a world away from the shit that we were staying in. And get this... its 10 euros cheaper a night and we get breakfast ... read more
