It's a four hour ride to Mykonos...we had to be in the port at 8 o'clock ...so we left at seven as they said it could be heavy traffic. Everything was going smoothly until we came close to the port...cars everywhere everyone trying to overtake each other....it was like peak hour....Once we got into the port..there was no parking or drop off areas..everyone just stop wherever and you need to get off quickly ...the taxi driver and I were at the back of the taxi when...we heard screaming....apparently Carmen opened the door and a old man on a bike tried to push through so she squashed his hand...ouchhh ...no wonder he went off at her...the taxi driver told him off for pushing in....Once the drama was over...we picked up our tickets and boarded our ferry...we had deck seats....the ride was quite smooth...only two stops...Once we arrived at Mykonos couldn't believe how much it had changed....they have a new port...the Mykonos I used to know was all white and very dark blue windows and doors and the church domes blue too....now everything is very light blue and the church domes red or blue...We then got our transfer to our hotel...we were battling
with scooters, two and four wheelers, buses, cars and narrow streets and bends....our driver said he was used to it as he did the trip 30 times a day....The hotel was very near paradise beach and had beautiful sea views...from most of the rooms and pool...George the owner greeted us with a warm welcome...After check in we didn't waste any time we headed off to the beach...the beach was packed...we had some lunch and we rented two beach chairs and umbrella...12 euros....far away in a corner as there was no other chairs left...there is little pieces of the beach where you don't rent anything but there is no shade...at around 4:30pm ...the party starts ....the MC, the king of Mykonos as he is known...he wears a a G-String with an elephant at the front ...I am sure this guy is hitting the 40s.....then there is another guy so doesn't look all there as well...he wears a white G-String and with white front and dances so that it moves up and down.....the MC starts with the nationalities....Italians I love you....i love Australians...then Spanish and so on...I am sure there is 50% Aussies and 50% Italians...70% under 25.. Everyone screams...everyone drinks...some have
buckets of drinks, some drink out of watermelons ....I went to get a few drinks ...and then I get asked if they can take my photo in between all these twenty year olds...I say nah...I get my cocktails and get the hell out of there....back in our peaceful corner...taking the sun and swimming in the beautiful water ...the water is warm but it has big rocks in certain parts.Paradise beach used to be a hippie beach...now it's the party beach...especially with tropicana and cove Paradiso....partying is until 6 in the morning and during the day they all sleep....That night we wanted to go to town...so we asked for a cab....there is only 30 cabs in the whole island....so good luck trying to get one...buses are 2 euro but are so packed good luck trying to get in..finally we got one...and we shared it with two lovely ladies from Canada....We all decided to have dinner in little Venice ....it was quite an enjoyable night sharing our travel stories. The next day we went to paradise beach at about 10:30am and got the seats with table service and right next to the water and bars...such a hard life.....once the party started we were
off to the bars for cocktail time....I think we had a few too many...Next day...yes you guessed it....beach again...this time..we took a water taxi to Elias beach....we had to go through three other beaches before landing in ours....Elias beach is longer than paradise beach....it's more quiet than paradise beach....the water is beautiful and you have sand instead of rocks.....what can I say we spent the whole day there...the waiter thought I was Greek ..he didn't believe us when we said no....he kept giving me funny cheeky looks...As we went back...parties in super paradise and paradise beach had started...That night we went to a restaurant called caprese by the water....the food was great...We then went off shopping...it was 12 o'clock at night and the shops were still open....We headed back in the bus.....and there was this two Aussie girls so drunk that one fell asleep as soon as she sat down...the other got told off by the bus driving for too much talking and eating on the bus......it's actually a bit sad that we get asked if Aussies have a drinking problem and is that what the culture is..always been drunk...Next day Paraga beach......to get to this beach you walk through
paradise beach..then you climb the rocks were this a little road straight there....Paraga beach is pretty much like paradise beach but in a smaller scale and its a bit more classier and less 20 years old..When we were coming back from the beach...down below on one of the rocks there was a naked guy tanning....when he saw Carmen and I ...I said Carmen look he is wanking...Carmen said What? And then she saw him and yes he was....well what can we say, he was looking at two beautiful goddess...LOL...he kept looking at us all the way until we go to the other side...guess he knew I was going to take a picture ...lol ..Once we got to the beach...there standing in the water ..there is an old man naked...I guess like they said anything goes in paradise beach....for the guys yes lots of topless...So we come to the end of our time in Mykonos, we spoke to lots of people...mostly,Aussies..but all friendly.....we enjoyed our time of doing nothing....the hotel, cocktails ...but now it's time for Beautiful Santorini....
