Can you believe we are on to our second round of visitors.... Time really flies. Before our friends arrived we had another truly splendid evening at George's. He was celebrating the arrival of his first grandchild - a little girl who is named Mavreta, after his late wife - and so put another lamb on the spit with all the trimmings.... The Liston. Apparently During the Second World War, all (or many) of the Jews on Corfu were rounded up and brought here to be shipped off to the Death Camps in Germany...


We visited a Synagogue which had this plaque inside with a tribute to the 2000 Jews who died in the Death Camps. Today only 60 Jewish people remain on Corfu, 8 of whom are children...

On route back to Gaios we came across this quaint little harbour called Longos. Sadly, it wasn't possible to moor there very easily..







The pink facade is a very clever way of disguising a derelict building in Gaios
