We are staying in Marandohori, Lefkada. The area is kind of overgrown with weeds and shrubs everywhere, but there are great views. We like Vasiliki, which has really cute shops and cafes, as well as friendly people. Marandohori is a more rural town and everyone knows everyone around the village and surrounding towns. Lefkada city is busy, especially because no-one drives by rules so it's kind-of one big traffic mess. You can find really nice ice-cream or horrible ice-cream, friendly people or not so much, awesome shops or poor ones, its pretty much a mixed bag. But I am pretty happy because I am getting my shoes fixed that I thought were beyond repair for 4 Euros, which is almost 6AUD. We went to a couple of the museums in town which were small but interesting. We went on a cruise the other day which took us around the other islands too. We went to Porto Katsiki first which is on this island, and it is amazing. The water was clear and bright blue. The only bad thing is that the stone beaches hurt your feet, but its okay because then you just have to swim. We then stopped at a couple little towns on other islands for lunch and a break, then we saw a cave and our last stop was Scorpio beach which was nice but small. It was a nice day. The weather here has been pretty good. Especially since when it is 26 degrees here it is 12 degrees at home. 😞 We get pretty hot days too. In the afternoon it gets a lot windier and may rain, and we have had storms at night, regardless of what the day was like. We went to Agios Nikitas too, which is a really nice little town which was more like what I imagined Grecce would be like. The beach is really nice too. Greece is a lot different to Italy. Different lifestyles and people. In some ways it is more peaceful, in other ways it is heaps busier. It's funny because even the people who love the laid back lifestyle here drive like someone is dying in the back seat. 😊 Anyway I have to upload some photos soon I hope. It is hard because our dongle doesn't really work so we jusst have to take advantage of cafes with free WiFi, which we can't spend all day at. So soon hopefully I will be able to keep up to date and show everyone what's going on and what it is like here. Hope everyone is great back at home and good luck with exams to all my friends! 😊 x
