31 degrees today in Athens - loving the air conditioner - though not PC in this economy but I can't sleep without it.

OK - on the count down or tomorrow. Today was spent finding the post office to get rid of all souveniers from amsterdam on - kilos of the stuff - not as easy as it sounds, getting Greg a hair cut, very fetching, trying to find somewhere for my vanity waxing (no luck), waxing myself - oouuccchhhh. Then there was shopping - for blockout, good shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste etc formalish shoes for me, sunnies for me, shorts for Kasey.

Then there was hours of final downloads, chucking, sorting, culling - farewell to our winter jackets! And finally packing, packing and packing. I'm sure we have less stuff but it's taking up just as much room as when we started - it sure better weigh less tomorrow.

John is coming to pick us up tomorrow at 6am to help us move luggage (thank goodness - 4 flights is a killer) and get us to the airport.

We are all excited about the cruise - OK, maybe me the most! Also really looking forward to Rome - not just becasue it's 10 degrees cooler!

Greece has been memorable - so run down and depleted - but every experience I've had with the gov - read post office - indicates that this place really doesn't have much direction, it's hard to see people suffering, but not sure things will change after this weeks elections. People just don't seem to know what to do - they struggle in many ways and government doesn't seem to be responsive at all.

Gov need to triple pries to see old stuff and ban entry to acropolis until the EU winds back austerity for Greece. We've also come up with a way to stop wars - scudda initiative - send old people - 55-65 who have missed out on major conflict like Vietnam etc to fight - entertaining hey! Stop depleting the world of those with lives ahead of then and just use those for which it's nearly over (joke)
