Day 12: Salzburg, Austria to Rhine Valley, Germany Sunday, October 18th, 2009

On to Rhine Valley, Germany today where we got to stay in a old century castle. I was kind of excited about living in a medieval castle, but when we finally got to the castle in Germany it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. We stayed in a room of 12 people with some of our tour mates and it was pretty cold for a castle. The food at the castles wasn't the greatest, and there was not much to do. A group of us just got together and started playing some card games and then called it a night.

Day 13: Rhine Valley, Germany to Amsterdam, Netherlands Monday, October 19th,2009

That morning the group went to the village of St. Goar where we saw a CucKoo clock store, which held the largest operational CucKoo clock in the world (I think). We also went to a Beerstein store, where I was tempted to buy one, but I opted out of buying one in the end.

After a short while at St. Goar, we headed on a bus ride to amazing Amsterdam. We stopped at a Cheese and Clog making farm, where the person giving us the tour was kinda weird, but it was all in good fun. I also got to take a picture of one of those famous Netherlands windmills. Then we headed to our hostel in Amsterdam, which was apparently named the worst hostel in Europe but I didn't think it was that bad. We had a room with three beds and our own shower. A lot better than the Generator Hostel in London. That night, our tour manager gave us a tour of downtown Amsterdam, where I got to take a picture of myself in a clog. We also went to the Red Light District, where it is forbidden to take pictures of the prostitutes in the windows. We saw Skinny Alley where the most expensive prostitutes are located and also got to witness a sex show, which was interesting to say the least. Then it was time to party and crash for the night
