My blog is early this week, because I simply had to tell everybody about this family outing!
My hostfamily and I went to the Circus this evening- Although it was more like Cirque de Soleil, but german and a little less eloquent and a little more rock. They had all sorts of jugglers, trapeze etc. as well as your average motorbike in a big round cage trick- but with flic flac it's not one or two guys in the cage, no no. There were first three, then five and finally seven!!! They also had a very entertaining Scottish comedian and some very good eastern european gymnasts. You can check out their site (unfortunately it's in german) at www.flicflac.de

Last weekend the Koln-Hahnentor Rotary Club invited me and my hostfamily to join them in Altenberg for a look at the Cathedral, A small hike and a nice Tea. The Cathedral was built by the Cistertians (sp?) and contains the largest stained glass window north of the Alps. Since it was built during an earlier time period, it did not have much of the Rococo style which many find gaudy. The hike was beautiful and let through a nice little forest littered with old mortar bridges and gates. All in all it was a very, very nice afternoon.

Tomorrow I'm meeting some friends in the City Center for some shopping and lunch, and on Sunday I get to meet all of the Inbound Students in the Cologne Area. The inbound students are going to spend next weekend in Solingen which is famous for ___________? (trivia question- think kitchen utensils) Should be lots of fun.

Schönes Wochenende!
(have a nice weekend)
