Half-timbered houses, world heritage houses, a house with rodents on display and a very happy house We wanted to see more of Germany than just some big cities, because we know that there is so much out there to explore. To make also smaller places accessible for us we decided to rent a car for a few days. The half-timbered houses is a traditional building style that can be seen in some Ger... Read Full Entry

What a beauty.
Really nice pic of an iconic wooden house, Ake. Position. position, position. I'll post it in the "Streetscapes" thread in the Photography Forum.

Happy House
A bit mad , but also reminds me of some of the houses in an area of Dresden , which we saw this summer. After being there we realise there is so much more to see and explore in Germany. It’s quite chilling when you see part of the East German “Wall”, and know you would have been shot if you had been there then.

Remember your Dresden blog
I remember you writing about Dresden. We definitely have to go there one day. /Ake

Cityscapes
Once again, I've enjoyed your architecture photos. I would have assumed this was a childcare learning centre or primary school! Although there are elements of it that I like :)

Love and hate
I guess it is a place you can develop a love and hate relationship to. As you said, there are elements that you can like about Rizzi happy house but I would get annoyed if I lived in it. It would be fun for a while but I would not be able to take it for more than a few months. /Ake

I also want one...
I think I am going to propose that they put a walrus above the door to our house as well. /Ake

An architectural question
The paint job seems to be as odd as the structure. You would have to stand and study what was going on here for some time. Strange.

Probably lots of details hidden there
There are probably lots of fun stuff to discover about that building if you take the time to explore it properly. /Ake
