International Shuffleboard Tournament

Arnold played in the International Shuffleboard Tournament held at Hohenroda, about a 2-hour drive from Frankfurt. There were teams there from Germany, Japan, USA, Belgium, Brazil, Canada. It was held on Aug 2 - 6 in a very large hotel in Hohenroda. You could access the scores on the internet by going to www.theshuffleboarder.de Arnold played for the German team as he was born in Germany and so had permission to do so. It was a great experience to meet players from all over the world - everyone so friendly
and helpful in spite of the language barriers. Also the food was out of this world!!! No place for a dieter!
This was also a visiting time for us as Arnold has 3 sisters living in Germany, all of whom are wonderful cooks! So again it was belt-loosening time!
We were home in Brockville, Ontario, for one day, then headed to Oshawa for the provincial senior games there. This time we were in lawn bowling. Our third player was George Landon from our park in Lakeland. Good time was had by all!

Reaction To Arnold's Participation ISA
Congratulations Arnold!! The ISA continues to foster excellent relationships among the Nations, among the Competitors of the Nations! The only down side to all "the good food" that was available >> is that one needs, at some point, to buy a new belt!!! lol I might add that the Canadian Women placed 1st and the American Men placed first!! However; the real winners were each and every PARTICIPANT without regard to Team!! Well Done Arnold. stan mccormack
