Caught the train into St Pauli station and walked the length of Hamburg's main "red-light" street. Got all adventurous and returned at 11pm by a different train line to Ulzburg Sud, where we had parked in the park-n-ride.

On the 23rd floor of "Dancing Towers", one of the four skyscrapers built on Reeperbahn redevelopment sites. Nice view and friendly bar staff. €15 (with tip) for a large beer and a wine.

The dark building with the odd-shaped roof at stage-left is the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hafencity. This unfinished building is destined to be Hamburg's signature building and it is experiencing massive cost and time over-runs.

Up this side street is the club where many celebrated artists played in the 60s.

Sel and Robyn, All looks very interesting. Very impressed with your daily update. As you ca tell I fell of the update wagon very quickly. Sweltering herein the Tuscan summer with daily temperatures 90 -100 degrees. Off to the UK on Monday
