Berlin is such a cool city, we were there 2 years ago and this is what I recall ....
Jewish musuem is a must - the building alone is very intertesing.
The open top bus tour (hop on hop off thing) is very good as there's so much to see (but the jewish museum is not on its route, need to take a train there). The bus goes in a great big circle so you can get a look at everything & has good headphones with good info. on each site.
Stop at a Reichstag as it has been beautifully refurbished - mirrored top dome is intertesting. The queue looks big but it does move really fast & the security inside is impressive.
In the west look out for the kaiser-wilhelm 'hollow tooth' remains of bombed church in Charlottenburg which has been artified with blue glass , we stayed near it in a 20's silent movie star called Anna Nielsen old house which is now a little hotel called Hotel Funk. Every flag ship shop of every big designer you can think of is based around there too, which is a site in itself after you've been looking at museums all day.
In the East Alexanderplatz's TV Tower is great on clear day for views of city
and the university/catherdral area in East is very picturesque
You won't miss the Brandenburg gate with its very own starbucks
Or the in between area Potsdam place with its big glass buildings sponsored by Sony/Audi et al
Checkpoint charlie is always mobbed but but there's other side exhibitions going on too all around about the wall & rise and fall of the nazi party & the city etc. so look out for them if u don't want to queue
Tresor is big famous dance music club/record label we went to
Art - Bauhaus museum is near Tiergarden I think there's Guggenheim in Mitte
I believe the Gemaldegallery in Tiergarden is very good too but didn't make it there personally cause its closes on Mondays or it was that time anyway.
Can't remember anything about food but I know we went all over the place on the train by night so it must have been looking for vege restaurants, but I seem to remember there's loads of nice bars & eateries. Oh yeah and turkish places with great falafel for snacks.
