(June 24 through June 26 2006) June 24 Our train arrived at Traunstein mid-afternoon and Sylvia was waiting for us. She was another friend that my brother had studied with in Portugal. Our decision was to spend a relaxing weekend with her and her family before we moved onto East Europe--this was our last stop in Germany. Bavaria is beautiful, and small town after small town fill the roadway from Traunstein to Trostberg. The day we arrived was hot and the sky was clear, perfect weather to start out the weekend. As we drove towards Trostberg, the Alz River enchanted us, and we wished we could jump in--but we never got a chance.
