Today we explored the city by public transportation. We have passes for the whole week so we decided to see how they worked. We figured out how to get back to the train station for when we leave town, we figured out how to get to the center of town, and most importantly we figured out how to get back home. We rode the buses and the subway, the trams will have to wait for another day. The public transportation system in this city is remarakable. It covers a vast area and is quick and efficient. And we never even got lost.

While in the town center we went up in the tower of The Old Town Hall. There is a law in Munich that no buildings can be built taller than the church towers. So even though it is a large city (1.5 million) it doesn't seem so huge.

Before heading home we had one more stop to make --the chocolate shop! There was an interesting film about how they make chocolate and then several choices of chocolate to purchase.

Sauges, beer, and now chocolate --what a great city!

We are thrilled with our home exchange in Munich. Using homes exchanges is a great way to travel. We are sold on the idea.

Beer
When we were in Germany many years ago there was beer delivery (bottles of beer) to residences. It was just like the old time milk delivery to homes in the US. It was amazing to us. Nice photos. I don't know how you packed Jan, You are sporting a different outfit in every photo that you are in! Love your blogs. Thanks, Sheryl
