We arrived in Munich and took the train from the airport to the hotel. We weren't sure how to buy the tickets from the vending machine. We were approached by someone asking if we wanted to buy tickets on the platform. We said no and went back to the main tourist desk in the airport. We ended up buying a travel pass for the week which was great.

The trains are big, but they are subway trains, so lots of luggage on the train can be cumbersome for you and the other riders.

We arrived and took a walk around Rozenhim Platz. The area is very safe and there are many shops around. Quaint boutiques and also mini grocery stores as well. There is also a little park where many of the streets converge, like in France. There is a main department store on Weibenburger Strabe. My husband and I had lunch there. Much like John Lewis or Deb's in London, you can have a nice local, low price lunch. The only thing to note, is the menu in these department stores are only in German. The waitress was very nice and helpful, she tried her best to help
