I woke up and rolled over. Kirsten was already up and gone, the lady who rented us the house told Kirsten that the baker was just a quick walk from the house. By the time I was dressed Kirsten was coming thought the door smiling and carrying a large bag. I’ve got breakfast she says as she rushes into the kitchen.
We all set down and had fresh brotchens, with cheese, meats and jams. Just like if we were staying in a Zimmer. We even had eggs, Kirsten made soft boiled eggs and they were great.
Since we’d been going fast for the previous days we all decided to take it easy today. So after breakfast we all piled into the car and headed to the Zentrum “downtown area” of Berchtesgaden.
Kirsten quickly spotted the ‘I’ Information office. For everyone who doesn’t know what the ‘I’ is it’s an office in just about every city, town of village and they provide information about the local area. We all went in to see if we could find any special fest were going on.
Well Hedi found that the local brewer was having an Oktoberfest party Friday or Saturday
evening. So we decided after checking out downtown we would go and see if we could find the brewer. On our way to finding the brewer we found the grocery store so Kirsten and Hedi decided they wanted to get some soup fixings to make a large pot of soup. As they were coming out of the grocery store, across the street and just down a little bit was the brewer. So we packed the groceries and ourselves into the car and headed over. Not only was it a brewer it also had a great little restaurant so we decided to have lunch, I was starving.
After lunch Hedi walked around the brewer talking to whomever and found out that there was going to be the 200th Oktoberfest fest Friday night, Oh La La. However, you needed reservations. So Hedi quickly found the restaurant manager and signed us all up for 7:30 Friday evening. He told Hedi to be there by 7 pm because it would fill up quick.
We headed back to the house, everyone was so tired and it wasn’t long before we all were napping.
I woke up and looked over toward the window
Kirsten was standing there and asked you want to go for a walk.
Yea, so we both headed out the door and were walking down the first path we found. It was like Hansel and Gretel, after about 45 minutes and multiple turns Kirsten turns to me and asks where are we?
I look at her and said I have no idea, she asks well get your map out, I responded, what map. I didn’t even have bread crumbs to leave a trail. Ok, don’t panic, we can just turn around and go back the way we came, WHAT…. It’s getting dark we’ll never find our way back. Ok, Panic.
After standing there for about 5 minutes we decided to take this one path to the top of the hill, that way we could see if we see the house. Well that was a great decision I must say because I made it and it put us on the correct road to our house.
Needless to say I have the map with me at all times, I’m even sleeping with it.
Hope your enjoying the blog.
