WOW!!!!!! What a show!! We just returned from our third helping of "A Bigger Bang" and it was the best yet. Mick was really on tonight and the sound was incredible. They were playing on the big stage and it looked small in the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium. This was the same stadium that was recently the venue for the World Cup. Their line-up of songs was excellent, the stadium was filled with 50,000 people (all standing for the last half of the show), and everything ran smooth as silk. Keith, Ron, and Charlie were also fantastic and they all seemed to be having a good time playing. But, Mick stole the show for the last 4 songs. He was über energetic and quite the showman. How does he do it!!?? With the great subway system we were ... read more

Well, the last 14 hours has been tiresome, but I have arrived! I am currently in Stuttgart, Germany and will be making my way to Schwabisch Hall in the morning. It's hard to imagine that less than a day ago I was in Denver, CO...wow... I've already taken several photos, but unfortunately I'm not able to load them as I'm using the hotel's computer... I'll post more as I'm able, believe you me. :-) I am most definitely excited to be here! I can't wait until I'll actually be learning German, though! I can get by with my English, but I'd like to be able to understand what's being said around me. :-) Alright, well it's time for me to find some supper. I'll do my best to keep this as up to date as possible, ... read more

This blog entry is pretty old and incomplete. Read at own risk ;) First stop in Germany was as usual Stuttgart the last place I lived back then in the good old days in Germany. I think I mentioned before that I changed my flights so that I arrive for the last two games of the world cup. That was a brilliant decision (have to pat myself on the shoulder here). I flew into Frankfurt and then took the train to Stuttgart. A friend was waiting for me in the train station and I knew something had changed in Germany when I saw him dressed in a German flag. That was completely unheard of when I lived there. Stepping outside of the train station was like walking into a flag store. The game for the third ... read more

Last night there was a storm, not too big, but also not small. I didnt think much of it until An air raid siren went off, it sounded like one anyway. It was explained to me that three sirens meant there was a fire, Which obviously wasnt the case being rain etc. So when the siren came to around thirty repeats I was informed that it meant Catastrophe, which was a relief seeing as it meant there was no fire... But It did mean that several houses at the bottom of the vineyards were flooded with mud, which had the distinct smell of poo. We were called into action, donning super 'water-proof' boots and smelly pants, which were soon to become more smelly. I was ecstatic, especially seeing as there was ONLY football on tv (note ... read more

A general update. Nothing Much has happened since my last update. Ramonas Birthday was Wednesday the 28th, we did nothing all day including eating. We (I) drank ourselves to oblivion, I claim that my drunken behaviour was due to my not having eaten all day, or the fact that the feuerwasser (fire water) we (I) drank was 85% alcohol. he next day I had quite the hangover. On Saturday we went to a town fest, where we drank copious amounts of beer and wine, not the best mix but apparently we were celebrating Germanys win. Again, nothing exciting. I really have nothing exciting at all to inform you of, I am going to Munich on monday on my way to Prague, which should be exciting, So I'll cut this entry short in order bring your anticipation ... read more

OK sorry for not posting earlier. It is difficult to get to working computers here, especially considering the amount of traveling we have been doing. The reason we are in this part of the world at this time is because the FIFA World Cup is on, so i feel i should cover this event while it is on. Being in Germany while the cup is on should be an amazing experience, and it is, but there are a couple of things which make it a little bit more difficult to fully get into it. The amount of train travel we have undertaken has caused us to miss some games (in periods quite a lot of games), back at home i would have seen more games and i would have seen all the games i wanted to ... read more

We got to the stadium well before kick off. It was packed outside the stadium. We ended up going in with a while bunch of Aussies, the conversations involved how much we were going to pump Croatia, Aussie rules, and beer. We ended up getting into the stadium and went about finding our seats. We entered our bay and were walking down the stairs. As we walked down there was only Croatians on our left. I´m talking the whole bay was Croatians. On our right there was miscellaneous supporters, probably mostly neutrals. We walked all the way down the stairs and found our seats in the very first row of the top tier located along the lengthy side of the pitch in between the 18 yard box and half way. As you could probably guess, our ... read more
