Wouldn't you believe it after the wonderful time we've had Judy now has a chesty cough! We heard people coughing early in the cruise and have heard some were sick when they began the trip and now they've passed it on to one of us as well as many others we can hear coughing. So Judy didn't want to get out of bed this morning but we did and were at breakfast before 7.30. After the part we hate the most - the goodbyes we were off out into the white frosty morning. Having sussed out the bus yesterday we walked the short distance to the stop, running the last few metres as it was approaching so after a transfer to the uBahn we were safely installed in our seats before 9.30 on the train ready for the next phase of our trip. We are heading to Stuttgart where we will change trains for Heidelberg!
By the time we found a hotel - an expensive one too, Judy was only fit to collapse in a heap which is what she did. She didn't leave the room for the rest of the day. Rags went out and
left her to sleep while he explored on his own.

Rags went to book our train tickets to Amsterdam for tomorrow and once again left Judy to rest. She hates the thought of visiting other people when she has a cold.
On his return we went out for a walk down to the river and bridge and through the Xmas Markets and “High Street”. After this excursion Judy slept pretty soundly for another couple of hours before tea which Rags went to get from the market stall not far from the hotel - Chilli Con Carne. It was yummy!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your cruise. What a pity someone had to come on board and spread their Flu germs with everyone else! But what would one do if the tickets were paid for and one had flown from some far flung country to do the cruise. A dilemma eh? Judy looks decidedly unhappy in the photo and the scenery looks equally so. Very grim and cold. It must be beautiful in the warmer weather though with all the green trees and lovely Germanic buildings. I hope you feel a lot better by the time you arrive in Amsterdam Judy. Not long now and Pat and Jack will be here with me. I am looking forward to seeing them so much. I just hope the weather will be kind to them. 38degs is forecast for Christmas day, a bit daunting. I will probably put my "Sit-me-down" on a chair and stay indoors for the day at Steve and Yvonnes. I'm sure Christmas must be so much more fun in the snow. Love Mum
