Today we went into Paris for the first time. We didn't want to try to brave driving in Paris, so we took the train to Gare Montparnasse. Nearby we caught a hop-on hop-off bus, called L'Open. This bus travel 4 different circular routes of the city. We decided this would be a good way to get an overview of all the sights. In the morning we saw Invalides, Place de la Concorde, L'Opera, The Louvre, Notre-Dame, and the Seine. Then we hopped off and had lunch in a sidewalk restaurant in Place de la Madeleine. Then in the afternoon we continued the tour through Montmarte, the Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, and the Boulevard St. Germain. A great way to the see the city. And a beautiful city it is. We love the architecture.
Pat and Sonya met 35+ years ago while traveling with a tour bus company called Contiki. Twenty five years after Pat's visit, her daughter Allison also traveled Europe with them. Today Pat was happy to see they were still in business. She only has very fond memories of traveling with them.
