What is the dominant religion in France , and how does this faith differ from Christianity?

http://about-france.com/religion.htm

Since the sixteenth century, Catholicism has been involved within France but wasn't an official Catholic country until the nineteenth century. Currently in France, almost half of the citizens there consider themselves Catholic, a few claim to have no religion and the rest are to be considered Muslims. By only almost half of France being Catholic, it is to be said that only five percent of people actually attend to church, which is known as weekly. There is a limit as to where religion can be public.

It is said that if a parent wants their children to have a religious education, parents would have to send there child to a private school. A quarter of high school students attend a private school whereas about eighteen percent of children who aren't in high school yet attend a private school. The France religion does not differ from Christianity because its basically the same as being a Catholic. Both Catholics and Christians believe in one god, therefore not making a difference.
