Day three proved a bit of a shock to the system initially with a 1 in 8 hill for 3/4 of a mile to break the ride in gently. While the following 20+ miles were very undulating, however the second half of the day was far easier. Despite this there were 4 navigational issues one of which nearly lead the brave three onto their second motorway, within the two days they have been in france! The weather was cool and cloudy however cleared up later in the day, they passed few large towns just miles and miles of fields. The day ended with the losing of the D37 and riding around Carquefou briefly before asking a native where the hotel was. All in all a pleasant day.

Stats:

Day's planned miles: 61.5
Day's actual Miles: 68.6
Total Miles: 177.6
Ascent: 3539ft
Total Ascent: 9798ft
Falls: Dave (1)
Chains off: 0
Knee's Aching: John (1)
