Today we left Colmar and travelled further North to Metz and then Reimes. Two beautiful cathedral cities. Our neighbour’s son lives in Metz and they recommend that we visited on our tour.

We were struck by height of the cathedrals - there seemed considerably higher than our own and with higher windows around the top making then light and airy.

We stayed in an apart hotel - the apartment was on the 5th floor! It may have been a climb but it did have its own kitchen and we were able to rustle up an omelette for supper and enjoy a glass of cold cider thanks to the fridge.

The apartment itself was in the middle of of the Champagne producer storage cellars. Familiar names on every gate and warehouse.
