We got up , had breakfast and headed out to old town Collioure. We walked around the base of the old fort, which had a path around it, right next to the ocean. The waves came up on the walkway and we had to run at several points to stay dry. Needless to say we failed and got our feet wet. We walked around town and visited the old church, Notre Dame Des Anges. It had a large altar almost all gold. If you put a euro in a box, the lights would come on and shine on all of the gold. We walked along the beach to the seawall. There were a few topless women on the beach. This is the second time I have seen topless women on the beach. No pictures were taken as they were always old women, not any hotties. like I had hoped for. After lunch we decided to take an excursion train up to a fort at the top of the mountain by Collioure. We had some fabulous views of the bay and the town and the vineyards. These are the first vineyards that we have seen in France. I think
that they cut down on their wine making after we kicked their ass in the international wine tasting competition. We next visited the Chateau Royale right in downtown Collioure. Then we walked back to our hotel via the seawall walk. Later we walked back downtown for some dinner.
This morning we left our hotel and headed over to Arles. Getting out of the parking place was fun. Stacy held open the gate and I had to pull straight out of the spot because it was so narrow. She stepped out into the road and blocked traffic, while I moved back and forth a few times so I could get in the right direction on the road. I pulled into a small place by the front of the hotel and paid the bill. We had to back down a driveway and back out into the street to get on our way. A French man walking by helped us decide when to back out and he yelled rapido, rapido when we were to pull out quickly into traffic. Lots of fun.
We took the A9 all the way to Arles. Since we arrived early, we decided to park in town, get some

lunch and look around before going to our hotel. When we left, we put the address in the GPS and it did not recognize it. Luckily, I had a map and directions on my phone and we tried to follow that. We got lost near where we thought it should be. I tried to call, but my phone wouldn't dial out. We drove around looking for the place. We finally decided to drive ahead and see if we could find someone to ask for directions. Low and behold, we passed it as we were driving along. We turned around and made it to our hotel.
We are staying here for 5 days and will make day trips around the area to see everything.
