tomb of Richar the Lionheart On the way to Rouen we discussed what year we were there before. Had to be a few years back. A good run again with a few coffee stops for nature calls. We arrived late afternoon in Rouen and of course at the wrong place. We finished up in the middle of town at a bus station blocking traffic. LIz went to ask and found straight away a person that spoke English. When Liz was back she could explain where I had to go next. We5 had to turn than follow the Seine and we would find it. He said look for a big building. We found it and could park the car underneath. Quickly installed there was time to go out and see what there was to eat. The receptionist told us about some restaurants along the Seine so a short walk took us there and yes there were several nice places where we could eat. A lot more special young people can speak English and when you sit there and they hear you speaking English they try to start talking with you to see how good their English is. We ordered our meal consisting of salads and cold meat

Notre Dame of Rouen lots of tomatoes as well but being that hungry you eat everything. We usual have a good breakfast and don't eat anymore till late evening. We just have some snacks. This was a nice place with a look at the Seine but not that much traffic on the river as in Germany. Back at the hotel we had the usual shower before disappearing into bed for a good rest. At breakfast next day we planned the day. We will walk to the city. According to the reception just twenty minutes away but that had to be French minutes for to us it was a lot longer. Of course we must say, we don't walk that fast anymore. But we arrived in the city trying walking as much as possible in the shade. Very warm walking in the Sun. We stopped at a shady place for an ice coffee that turned out to be a big glass with ice blocks and a lot of cream on top. Tasted okay for a hot day. Enough rested we found the Rue D'Horlogie a very famous street in Rouen. Everybody has to walk through this street. At the end you arrive at the Cathedral

beautiful windows of the Notre Dame of Rouen. In this church is the tomb of Richard the Lionheart. No cost to visit this church. Usual you have to pay.. We even could make photos and video. The church dates back to the year 1100. That was the time they started to build. Amazing what people could do in those years not having the tools we have now. We spent time in the church for it was also nice and cool Visiting a few more places we stopped for a cool drink and nature call. That took us to the end of Rouen visit, We had to walk a long way back to out hotel where we could freshen up to go to the same place for an evening meal. Liz had the same as last night but I decided on a Hamburger. Back at the hotel we could see the women's soccer after we both had a shower. We are getting ready for our next stop Angers. The weather will be even hotter as here in Rouen. We will see you there.
