A room with a view
The view from our room in our chalet - not bad for skiing. Well we have arrived in Courchevel for a cheeky weeks skiing.
So we decided to stay at the airport the night before as we had a really early check in time. I was not looking forward to getting up at 5am to check in at 6pm, but to be honest this part of the journey went well and we checked in no problem with no queue, so Jet2 I must apologise for my thoughts on how bad the check in process would be.
So through check in and we find that Terminal 1 has changed so much since we were last there. Going through security was a bleeding nightmare the queues were amazingly long. You now go through a machine and it lets you through one way straight for your x-rayed luggage and another to be further checked - well what chaos, most people were in the further check queue so the baggage was piling up. So the security guard said walk quickly through the machine and you won't end up in the further check queue - how does that work!!!!!
Anyway we go up to Fat Giraffe for brekkie which to be honest was not bad at all.
Now a question for anyone out there reading this blog (or am I writing this for my own amusement, ha ha) someone tell me why when I buy lip salve do I have to show my boarding pass errrrrrrr
Anyway the plane journey was not too bad, this might have been because we had a spare seat next to us but still I cannot complain.
We have now arrived in Courchevel and the snow is amazing. We have had a few runs down on the free lifts just to get our snow feet on and hopefully tomorrow we can venture out a bit further on some harder slopes. I do need to sort my new salopettes out as they kept falling down, not a pretty sight I can tell you! Note to oneself tighten the belt a bit more.
Mike has booked me into ski lessons - do you think he is trying to tell me something
a) your skiing is crap
b) need a break from the menace so lets book her into lessons to give me a break
You decide - a or b
We are staying in a catered chalet with 19 other people - last time we stayed in a catered chalet it was great so let's hope this meets the high standards of the last chalet - let's hope so, looking good at the moment.
I bought Mike a camera for skiing so hopefully I will be able to post a video, but if you know me you will probably know my technology skills are crap, so don't hold your breath - until then here is a photo from outside our bedroom - posh, you know we even have a balcony, not that you would sit out in this cold in your pyjamas, ha ha
