The circumnavigation of Mont Blanc has been on my trekking wishlist for a long time, so it was great to finally tick the box with a guided Utracks 10-day trip. Due to the unusually high and late snowfalls, some of the river crossings were swift and tricky. Nicole to the rescue every time!

There was a river under this snow bridge - we could only cross the same path one at a time

Long, freezing cold, wet and windy day with 603m descent and 568m ascent. Highest point of 1592m.

Seriously cute house of gnomes. Every house and town in Switzerland is immaculately tidy and landscaped.

Tried to climb up alternative steep slope to reach the Col de Ferret, however eventually we couldn't go any further due to the icy conditions (it was too dangerous even with crampons and ice axes, which we didn't have) so we turned back and took minivans to Courmayeur instead.
