Nice
Nice is nice. Well how do you sum up an epic journey through Europe? After lost credit cards, car break-ins and split heads there can't be anything else left, or can there?
Well folks the trip was nearing to an end and it was time to head back to France on the home stretch.
We headed to Nice for more Med relaxing and certainly weren't disspointed.
Nice is nice.
We stayed in a rockin' hostel full of drunkiness, oh yeah. It was also Rugby world cup final time.
We headed to the local square for the France V England final, only to have a dull crowd and France lose, boo hoo.
The next day bought on better things, Ev, Fin and I hired roller blades and skated along the beach front while Shaun went to a muesum. We were a bit tired after and sick of seeing topless old ladies on the beach front, talk about old leathery boo.......!
The following night saw some real action. Upon walking to the pub with a big group of Aussies including a daugher with her parents known as, well, mum and dad (awesome, awesome parents) we had a quick game of rugby
Monte Carlo
A casino in Monte Carlo, not Casino Royale though! which saw Evan take a screaming grab from a sky rocket but end up in a fountain! He went home got changed and met us out. Mum and Dad were bumping and grinding on the dance floor, not bad for 70 year olds!, so a great night.
We decided to spend the next day at the beach and relax with some french-canadian friends. After a while Ev complained about his arm so we headed to the hospital. Turns out the little bugger fractured his radius in the fall and to make things worse it was a huge doctors strike!!!!!!
This meant I was now the full time driver and time to head to Marsaille.
It was very windy and once again we got lost and followed the local mechanic to the hostel.
Played some beach cricket with some poms in very poor conditions then headed on an epic walk to some where I don't even know but it was fun anyway, make sense? Thought not.
We headed on walk with some people we met at the hostel to a place to watch the sunset, to bad no one actually knew where to go so we ended up
Cannes
Yes, there are naked boobs somewhere. Can you find them? on some rocks in howling wind drinking cheap red table wine. Shaun and Ev turned back earlier and Ev was struggling with the clipped wing.
After Marsaille (I know I've spelt it wrong) we headed to either Lyon or Dijon, can't remember which was which, one we ate snails, very nice and one Finno discovered he was out of money!
Well what a troubled time. Since he was out of money he decided to book his flight home. Upon ringing Student Flights he found out his flight was booked for September, he had missed it and had to buy anothre one. Pretty hard when you have no money!!!!!
We then headed to Fontainbleu, where I was pumped to go bouldering as it is the bouldering mecca of the world, but Finno was so stressed he hardly spoke. He eventually booked a flight home with the help of Evan's trusty credit card and all was good.
I got to boulder some problems in Font so I was happy and we finished the trip with some camping. It was freezing and my tent was frozen inside and out with frost, ouch.
We returned the car to Paris
Fontainebleau
The back garden of the Chateu in Font. and stayed with one of Shaun's friends whose flat over looks the Eiffel Tower, very pretty at night. I parted company with all and headed for England, Finno headed home, Ev went to his Aunt's in Belgium and Shaun stayed in Paris for a few days.
Ev came to London for a week and we checked out the sights in my great walking tour, then met Shaun in Camden for drinks. (he arrived in London a few days before Ev)
Ev and I also saw the Tower of London (including the crown jewels on a great tour) and visted my family in Hastings.
Shaun and I are the only ones left. I have a job at a place called Cotswold Outdoors and am still trying to find a place to live. Shaun has a place to live and is working as a temp at a firm in London.
That's the end of the trip, that's the end of the blogs.....for know.
Hope you have enjoyed my journey, hopefully photos to follow soon.
