The next weekend trip saw me in Marseille, by way of TGV (France's high speed train). The train trip was enjoyable on many levels, not the least of which was the consumption of two of France's greatest products, cheese and wine...
On arrival in Marseille we found ourselves on an impromptu night walking tour, which saw us spend the next five hours walking around the city and its most famous landmarks.
We managed to successfully kill the time until our scheduled train departure for Cassis at 5am.
The only impression that I could say I got from this 5 hours in Marseille, is that it wasn't quite the satanic hellhole that some of my Parisian friends had insinuated it to be. No one tried to rob me, I didn't see any crime and the French spoken wasn't the martian dialect I'd come to expect I would hear...
Although it was only 5 hours!
