Eze

The Eze village is over a thousand feet above sea level. The bus ride over took us on the mountain round over looking the ocean, scenic in itself.

Maybe it's the cloudy and chilly day, or maybe it's because Eze is such a commercialized village, we didn't think it was as nice as Saint Paul. The old town is perched on the mountain top, with houses all up and down the hill. I don't think anyone lives in the village, which takes away some of the interest. Still, it is a very photogenic village.

Getting back to Nice in record time of 3:30pm, we head straight to Renee's Socca, somewhere we've been wanting to go for a while. Socca is a local food, chickpeas in a flour pancake. It was delicious, but not so much that we'd want to take it home.

Heading home we stopped by a couple of stores to pick up dessert, bread, eggs, etc. I feel very French and like I belong more walking down the street with a big baguette tucked under one arm and a bottle of bubbly in the other.

Tomorrow is our last full day here and we leave on Friday. The little home away from home is going to be occupied by someone else. =(
