Thursday we met ALL the gang in Gruissan….the salt flats where they sell lots and lots of salt products….did a tour but this one was totally in French…so 90 minutes really wasted. Lovely establishment near the beach…was great to see the area. Loaded ourselves in the cars and drove to Narbonne to get groceries and stuff for lunch as Chateau Haut Gleon doesn’t have a restaurant….so yummy baguettes, ham, cheese tomato….delish all in the garden of the chateau. Chateau Haut Gleon is not in a town but in the countryside about 8klm from two towns….but wow what a gorgeous estate…nice rooms, pool and breakfast room and of course tasting rooms for the wines. WEEK 3 We spent one more night at la Dragonniaire then moved our shortest distance so far, 7 miles, to Villeneuve-les-Beziers which is next to the Canal du Midi. It was time to be a bit more active and we clocked up 30 miles of cycling in 3 days, not very far for the cycling enthusiasts amongst you but it felt like an achievement for those of us who only ride a bike a few times a year! The scenery was classic french impressionist subject matter. The Canal du Midi runs from Bordeaux to the Mediterranean but we'll have to do that on another trip!
