CassouletCassouletCassoulet

The traditional meal of the Languedoc, with white beans, Toulose sausage, duck and other bits. Way too heavy for a summer day, but great all the same.
SATURDAY - Every day we start off with Pain au Chocolat or Pain au raisin, and a huge cup of café au lait. I can’t get enough of the good coffee here and end up with a good case of the shakes by 3 PM. It is so worth it. Ok, I am lapsing. I am so forgetting what I have eaten, since I haven’t written everything down. But if I can’t remember then it couldn’t have been that good or….it is all just so good that each meal is blending into another…..I’ll let the scales in LA determine that one….

SUNDAY - Kevin’s family arrived by noon for a birthday lunch for Ann at Hotel d’Alibert in Caunes. The food was wonderful, and beautifully presented. And the owner was delightfully obnoxious with his humor. A very enjoyable experience! I had a beautiful beouf bourguignon and a peach gazpacho with caramel ice cream for dessert. See the pictures for what others had.

MONDAY - Today we had a family barbecue with Ed and Wendy. Nothing special except for the lovely garlic sausages. And of course a super pastry for dessert….

TUESDAY - We headed to the Ollenzac market,

where I bought a wonderful green hat, some scarves and other souvenirs, and then we hit the food stalls. We bought some of our favorite sausages, and some cheeses. And check out the breads! All the ingredients you need for food with flavor!

WEDNESDAY - Today we went to Narbonne, where they were having a celebration of the US troops arriving and liberating the city during WW 2. We had lots of jokes about “Allo ‘Allo” and watched a parade. Rob and Erica Lauder arrived late this afternoon
