TIPS

- Enjoy a cruise in Seine river, by ordering a ticket in the internet using this website to save euro: http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/

- Stroll along the long road of Champs-Élysées by starting from Place de la Concorde until finally reaching Arc de Triomphe or vice-versa. You will pass by beautiful spots. Look for location of La Petit Palais at Avenue Winston Churchill (station Champs Elysees Clemenceau, line 1, 13) This side street of Champs de Lysees has lots of imposing buildings. You also find bridge of Alexander Ponte with Eiffel tower as background. When you cross this bridge, you find Hotel Les Invalides.
-At Arc de Triomphe, go downstairs, enter the tunnel.
-Most French eateries have a combo meal known as Formules. It is around 15 euro. Being a budget traveler, I prefer buying in supermarkets, bakeries, drinking coffee a few blocks away from a tourist spot and eating in Chinese eateries or French turo-turo. It saves unnecessary expenses in my case. By the way, I notice that Chinese eateries/restaurants adjust the food taste according to the taste buds of locals. The food served tastes like a real French food. Foods catered by Chinese in Holland taste different.
-a normal travel card has a limited zone. If you plan to visit La Defense, a district where there are modern architectural buildings, buy this specific zone.
-At Place du Tertre, beware of con-artists pretending to be painters.
-At Notre Dame church, beware of gypsies asking if you speak in English. Just ignore them or say "no". If you respond by saying you do speak English, they will let you read something in English and will not go away until you give money.
