Paris
Notre Dame over the Seine. We are staying in the most charming apartment in St Michel's in the Latin Quarter. We are in the heart of the Parisien cafes and restaurants and the nightlife is something to experience! Across the River Seine we have the amazing Notre Dame Cathedral and the famous Louvre. Yes we are spoilt! We have seen so many spectacular sights including the Eiffel Tower (Jarryd and Steve climbed 750 stairs to the second level of the tower) and the Arc de Triumphe. We have strolled the Avenue des Champs- Elysees and saw lots of designer shops. We took a train trip to Verseilles (the directions we got from St Michel's Metro were excellent) and wandered around the Palace of Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. We saw their bedrooms and the famous Hall of Mirrors and the massive gardens.
We browsed Europe's largest department store - Galeries Lafayette - with the hugest perfumery. Its like a bigger version of Harrods.
The nights came alive with music, people, lights and wonderful smelling food! Daylight didn't end until around 10.30pm so we were often fooled into eating quite late. One night Steve and Barbara had tasty french onion soup (and some good red wine) while

Rose window Jarryd had frogs legs (and he liked them even though Steve told him now there were a few extra frogs getting around in wheelchairs). Rachie enjoyed the baguettes with the many cheeses and hams (with loads of the mustard dressing she took a liking to).
We had five memorable nights in this beautiful city!
