So Paris has been very good to us. =)

Yesterday we set off to go to Versailles (a giant pretty chateau palace) but it turns out they are closed Mondays. Oddly enough ALOT of things are closed on Mondays. Thankfully we discovered this on the way to Versailles and not after having gotten there and wasted all the money. lol. Anyway, so we changed plans and decided to visit the Louvre (home of Mona Lisa). This was by far the most ginormous museum I have EVER been in. We spent most of the day wandering around getting lost and only saw most of one floor and part of a second, and there are FOUR floors. We visited Lisa right off since I had heard horror stories about the mob scene getting to her. The mob wasnt that bad and Chris and I decided the painting was wholly unremarkable. I would never in my life pick it out as a favorite painting, and there are a hundred better paintings in the Louvre. We wandered around trying to decide which paintings we liked most and should steal Lisa's shining throne. We also got to see Napoleons (cant remember

which one... the 2nd maybe?) apartments, which were absolutely gorgeous; tons and tons of expensive artifacts; the Medieval Louvre (i guess it used to be a castle of some sort?? So the basement has the stonework and moat still); and an Egyptian exhibit. That took several hours, and our feet were achin by mid afternoon.

So we headed back to the hotel and showered and rested before dinner. I was determined to try escargot in France. We set off to find a restaraunt in the guide book, but it didnt exist anymore when we got there! So ended up at another bistro, and this place was awesome! Our waiter was the coolest waiter wed ever had, esp considering he didnt speak english and we dont speak french!! He replaced words with very expressive body language and he was hella funny. So we got wine, and they gave us some really garlicky spicy olives and then peanuts to start out with. The next course was our escargot. We were both nervous about tryin it, but its just something you gotta do in France, ya know? They were cooked in pesto, and you get this weird tool that holds the snail

and another tiny fork to help dig the snail out of the shell. Ya know what? I love escargot. It was hella good!!! Im so glad I tried it because I would defitnitely go out of my way to eat it again. Next was our main entree. I ordered duck confit and Chris ordered Andouilette. Our waiter was concerned and doublechecked to make sure Chris really wanted it and asked if Chris knew what it was. lol we know the American version... So the waiter starts pantomiming intestines, and Chris still ordered it. After all, sausages are intestines, right? I really liked my duck, but Chris didnt care too much for his food. I thought it was good though. It looked like a sausage, had this really strong herb taste and you dip it in this really good mustard sauce. Mmmm. Id never had duck before- its greasy but good. The food also came with salad and potatoes. Anyway, we had creme brulee for dessert, which we both loved. We decided bread pudding still gets first place for most tasty dessert in Europe thus far.

Today we got up early and set out for DISNEYLAND!!!! After some trouble buying

Lookin down Main Street
train tickets we still managed to make it to the park 15min after it opened at 10am. Im gonna start by saying I was a lil disappointed with the park.. for a few good reasons. First of all, a good third of the rides and restaraunts were closed due to refurbishment, INCLUDING PIRATES!!!! What the hell?!?! They dont have nearly as many rides as regular disneyland to begin with so that sucked. Most of the rides they did have werent as good or broke down. The wait times for the rides were really short tho. Like Space Mountain was only ten minutes but again not much like the california version. The coaster shoots you out in the begginning like through the barrel of a large gun, and then you zip through near darkness with colored planets on the walls. It has an upside down loop and a corkscrew or two, and its so rickety the whole time your head is slamming back and forth against the side of the restraint.. which made us feel pretty sick after. We took a shopping break after, lol. Another interesting ride was the haunted mansion, which had a western theme goin on. Thunder Mountain

The... uh... castle... obviously under renovations...
completely broke down when we were on it. We actually had to be escorted off the coaster; through the mountain and back outside. I tried to take pictures, Galen. I managed to sneak a few in. And if you thought the food in regular Disneyland was expensive, holy crap... The most expensive meal we saw was for something like 60 euros... it was an eat with the disney princesses place- drinks not included in the price, lol. The other park was more like a California Adventures Universal Studios hybrid. Tower of Terror was awesome, as well as this Rock n Roll rollercoaster. They even have a backlot tour like Universal studios, complete with canyon disaster segment.

We had wanted to eat in the parks but most of the good looking places were closed or way too expensive. So headed for Disney Village, which is a lot like Downtown Disney but smaller. They had alot of slightly less expensive restaraunts and the man decided he wanted Rainforest Cafe, lol. The food was really good. =) We also got pretty drunk on accident. We ordered a pitcher of margarita but they were pretty much all alcohol with a splash of lime.

The not so spooky western themed Haunted Mansion
The French make em strong! Chris had a bacon cheeseburger and I had a really good veggie pasta. We were both too stuffed for dessert.

Anyway, that was our Disneyland Paris Adventure! Im still glad we went to try it out but I think Ill stick to regular Disneyland from now on. =) Thank god its alot closer.

Tomorrow afternoon we start our eurail pass and its off to Blois, France!!

Ps. Sorry for the bad spelling and punctuation but it takes too long with these french keyboards. Oh wells
