today i had a choice in rides, a 45km one or a 75km ride. so being the sucker i am i went for the longer ride as you got to see more splendid Chateau's and the biggest one, Chambord. so i started on my way at 9am and went through to Montrichard then Bourre, Thenay, Phages, Feings then Cheverny. i arrived in Cheverney around 11ish. i went and had a look at the chateau and grounds. i spent about 1 hour there looking and admiring the arcitecture and beauty. i then carried on my merry way - next stop Chateau Chambord. to get there went through lots farming areas and woods which sort of reminded me a wee bit of athers pass area. after biking another 20kms i ended up on the outskirts of the grrounds to Chambord. the grounds aare massive as is the Chateau. i spent about 2.5hrs there. i had some lunch and then decided to brave the 100's of people and have a look in the Chateau. you could spend hours looking in the chateau as there are 200+ rooms. the structure and arcitecture were amazing. just after 4.30 i left there as i still had about

15kms till Blois. on the travels to Blois i passed through the other side of the woods of chambord and went through Huisseau, Vineuil (in which i managed to get lost, just after thinking i was doing so well, i managed to find right route after cycling 10min and nearly ending up on motorway) and then onto the bike path which led to Blois. i arrived in Blois just after 5.30 and was suprised at how big Blois is, it is the biggest city yey that i have been in through my bike rides. by the time i found the hotel (chateau isn't far) it was just after 6pm. the chateau closes at 7 so i decided to flag for today, had a shower, went for a 20min walk and then had dinner. since dinner i have been sitting on a nice soft bed catching up on this lovely blog. i seem to be wrighting 100s of words for each day, but there has been so many wonderful sights that words or pictures don't do any justice.
