today we woke up and thought "holy CRAP we're in Helsinki!!!!!!"
we got in at about 5pm yesterday, we took the bus to the city (because the airport is actually in Vantaa we learned) and then walked until we found our hotel. we were so tired since we hadn't slept for about 30 or so hours. the hotel is small and cute (expect to see the word "cute" alot because it's the only adjective that i know!). it's basically 2 twin beds and a shower. that's cool with us. we went for supper (pizza! how foreign!) and then went to bed...some of us for 12 hours!
today we have been wandering around and actually got lost for a little while which surprised us since we're both pretty good at reading maps and generally have a good sense of direction. then we figured that shit out and went to the harbour and some churches.
today is relaxing, we don't have anywhere to be and we're not on a schedule, although i am looking forward to the structure of a tour because it can take a while to plan out a route.
we're also shopping a bit today. found the h&m already! and
sonja is drunk, which is about normal.
it would be nice if people would leave us messages and comments since as far as we know at this point the only people that are reading this are our parents and my auntie b. which means that they will get the best presents and the most postcards.
we are having a bit of trouble figuring out power adapters and such but we have found a way to charge our ipods and isn't that all that really matters?
tonight sonja will probably drag me to some night club where she can get her crazy on, we'll see.
love you!

Hi everyone!!!!
Everything that andy said is mostly true, except anything she said (or ever says) in reference to me. We're going to a movie tonight and we hope that it's dubbed over in finnish and has english subtitles. Our trip has been pretty awesome so far. We have a book in which we're recording everything we do and every funny thing that we say (which is a lot, especially since we were nearly delirious the last few days from exhaustion). We bought a ton of postcards, so you guys
should start anticipating their arrrival soon. It's really cute here and clean. Everyone we've talked to has been really nice and very helpful. Other than that, the european keyboards are really hard to navigate and are blowing my mind.
LOVE!!!
Sonja
it doesn't take much to blow sonja's mind folks!

Be Nice
Andy, be nice to Sonja! Is the architechture impressive in Helsinki or just "cute"? Is it a modern city? Enjoy your day girls. Love Mom
