Turku bits and bobs

I might have been in Turku -(17 Aug) but I did not see a lot - wandered around aimlessly - bought a really cheap cotton shirt 70% off for only about 9E - $17 - and along the Aurojoki river (spp.?) and decided that a dinner cruise would kill 2 birds with one stone - food and travel. It was actually really good value from 7pm til 10pm - when it is finally getting dark after sunset at 9.30pm or so. Found a cruise boat going at 7pm and then came back to it after long walk along the river bank - Turku is pretty flat so cyclists everywhere, but on separate paths fortunately. day cruises for 1 1/2 hrs were 19E or so - this 3 hr one + dinner was 30E - sounds good to me. The food was a really excellent buffet - fish X different ways as usual - salmont the whole bit. I made the mistake of getting hot food first - then left it and got the cold stuff - gotta do buffets the right way - have even been eating soused herring for breakfast. you can tell the Italians - have their plates piled with bread and jam and nothing else. the cruise was basically a return trip along the same route out thru the harbour etc - prob told you all this before in my last blog. after - more night shots of illuminated old buildings etc
