Today we were in Copenhagen Denmark. It is our 18th Wedding Anniversary!
We had breakfast at Topsiders before meeting in Studio Sea for our tour.
The tour we chose today was a tour called Castles of North Zealand. After boarding our bus we drove through Copenhagen before heading to the first of three castles we were going to visit.
Our first castle was Kronborg Castle. This is also called the Hamlet Castle because it is the setting of Shakespeare's play. It was built in 1425 and was a fortress until the late 1970s. This was a beautiful castle and a great way to start the day.
The second castle we visited was the summer residence of the current Royal Family. It is the Fredensborg Palace. This is an Italian style structure. We were able to walk almost up to the castle itself. While we were there we got to see the changing of the guard.
After spending time at this castle we headed to a local inn for a traditional Danish lunch. It was a cold buffet of meat and vegetables and cheeses and of course, pickled herring.
After lunch we walked around the Inn. There was a church, with a graveyard and
a small town square.
Then back on the bus for our third and final castle. The last castle was Frederiksborg Castle. This castle was built during the rain of Christian IV (1588-1648). This castle has been restored and is a beautiful castle and museum.
We got back just in time to get on the ship before sailing away. Nikki and I relaxed while Kelsie and Regan got some food from deck 9. Then, Nikki and I went to the pool and hot tub before Dinner.
Dinner was in Animators Palate and was the show menu for this restaurant.
After dinner we looked at photos and exchanged our Danish Kron into Euro before meeting the girls for the show. Tonight's show was a musical show featuring five of the regular performers singing songs from Disney musicals.
After the show, Nikki and I walked around the Promenade Deck. The sunset was beautiful tonight. This was the first night that there were clouds that could reflect the colors of the setting sun.
Once our walk was through Regan and I went to see Who Wants To Be A Mouseketeer in Studio Sea and then back to the room to call it a night. Kelsie was out
with her friends at the club and Regan went off to watch Alice in wonderland.
Tomorrow is a long and busy day in Germany.
