Dear All Greetings once more, my second of three blog entries on my lovely little trip to Denmark, reporting this time on my second full day there, on the Tuesday. After a full day exploring the tourist sights of Copenhagen, along with many other international tourists, I felt that on my second day I wanted to explore more provincial tourist attractions, hopefully more off-the-beaten track. The ... Read Full Entry

Copenhagen off the beaten path
Glad you had these places to explore by yourself. Plundering and pillaging seemed to be the norm around the world.... take from those who had. I'm glad you made an attempt to learn the language. When we were in Copenhagen we thought about popping over to Sweden because it was so close but our time was short and we decided to wait until we could give it our full attention.

Sweden
I completely agree with you. I could also have easily popped over to Sweden, but I'm saving it until a time when I can do it more justice. Even though everyone seemed to speak English, it was nice indeed to be able to say a few words in their language ?

Too many castles
Holy moly does Denmark have a lot of amazing castles and palaces. I visited so many already in the last couple of weeks and still I discover more interesting ones to go explore. Reading about Frederiksborg in your entry really makes me want to go there. It sounds like a lovely place and I don't understand how it didn't show up on my radar when preparing my trip. Sadly I'm on the other side of the country right now and I'm running out of time. Maybe next time I visit Denmark... If you are ever in Denmark again and in the mood for another castle I would recommend Egeskov castle. It is absolutly lovely. Greetings from Aalborg.

Castles
Lol, I imagine there are lots of castles there! There are lots of castles here in England too. I never get bored of them! It sounds like you are having a great trip there ? Thanks for the recommendation of Egeskov Castle. I will keep that in mind, as I'd like to return to Denmark some day and explore Funen and Jutland. I only got to see around the capital in Zealand last time. All the best ?
