We drove into town and Kosta dropped us off near Amalienborg Palace- I think this is where Princess Mary, Prince Fredrick and baby Christian live in summer or winter. It is an oval shaped building and we were allowed to walk around. We had time to spare before the changing of the guards so we went to see the Marble Church, but unfortunately the tower that we wanted to walk up was closed. So Anita, Bridget and I went back to the palace and got a good place to stand to view the changing of the guard. It wasn't very exciting. We then walked to Nyhaven. In the square there was a photographic display of wildlife photos, taken in Africa and South America- they were very good. We walked along the harbour at Nyhaven and had a snack for lunch. Met up with Jen who joined Anita and I on a hour cruise of the canals. I really enjoyed the cruise and we saw things that we now didn't have to walk to!
Jen left us and Anita and I walked down a pedestrian shopping strip and came to the Round Tower. It was built in 1588 and is
02 Houses
Houses in Christiana. 34.8 metres high. It was easy to walk up as it was a spiral ramp and no steps. We then went to the Hans Christian Anderson museum. It had most of his stories animated. We had purchased a combined ticket, so we also went to Ripley's Believe it or not! Its always interesting to see the world records and strange things that they have on display.
We then walked 15 minutes to the National Art Gallery and saw some of the modern art. It was then time to meet the others for a drink and snack at a pub before we had to meet the bus to drive us back to camp.
