On the train I met a dentist and we spoke in a common language, barely intelligible German. The town is quaint and charming but might be overrun with tourists by now. The beer from nearby Czeky Budejovice is some of the best in the world. The rafting trip on the lazy Vitava River was relaxing and picturesque.
