amazing deliciousness
The best pastry I have consumed thus yet- in Telch. Today is Sunday and I took it easy last night, having dinner with my host family and then hitting the hay at about 10:30pm. Therefore, I was able to wake up at a decent hour, 9:30am-ish to begin this wonderful, relaxing, beautiful Sunday morning. I am sitting here right now, the sun hitting my back through the half-assed opened window, waiting for my laundry to finish, listening to Jaroslav gardening, mama preparing lunch, and an i-tunes song. My parents and sister are coming in less than a week!
I went out with Liz on friday night, slept over her house because her parents were away for the weekend and we got home pretty late. I wore her pajamas which was so funny because the shirt was really loose and thin and that in combination with tight long johns looked pretty funny because she is a lot smaller than me...ohhhhhh barbara. The next morning I woke up being confused where I was because I was in the guest room and panicked for about half a second. We woke up at 6:30 because we had to meet alice, molly, and loke to catch the bus to Tulch, a small town in the
Telch.
Square. Czech Republic. Liz and I had cereal and coffee but as we were going out the door, the cat that liz had let out in the back yard was no where to be found. We called it's name "HUGO", "Hugo" (I think that was the name) and it still wasn't coming back. At this point, we had to leave soon because we had to catch our bus, and I still had to get a ticket! What to do? What to do?
Therefore, Liz left some food out for the cat, luckily it would turn out to be a beautiful, sunny day.
Liz forced me to run to the metro, remember she has to climb up lots of stairs and a big hill, and I started to feel the burn of the hill in my body- however, with determination and luck, we made it to the metro and actually to the bus on time, with a few minutes to spare. I was even able to purchase a ticket on the bus. At first I thought the driver said I could just get on for free, but my ears deceived me for the last time and I cut off my
Cottage.
Cottage. left ear. I will now be considered a famous artist... or boxer. Anyway, our other two friends, Molly and Mia were supposed to spend the day with us, but they were too late and missed the bus. We had a moment of silence in their honor. I slept a lot on the bus because frankly I was ExHaUsTed. I vary between capital and lowercase to prove how eXhAuStEd I really was.
Upon arriving to Tulch, mixed feelings filled my mind because off the bus seemed to be just a small little town with houses, like any other. However, with Molly's virtuous mind, we were able to walk a little and find the town center that was very cute/beautiful/old/historical. Alice needed some tea or else she would become "nasty" Hah I just laughed.
Today I ventured to the country side- Jaroslav drove. After driving for about 25 minutes, we turned on to a dirt/mud road entering a small village where the car was soon pulled over. We got out, with Freddy too, and opened the gate to their cottage that I was both impressed and intrigued by/with. It was just so cool because it was old and beautiful with

me hanging out with my sunglasses on, the ones papa told me to bring, on the cottage bed. an antique czech charm. The parents went around opening up the windows and shutters and turned on the electricity. I wandered around the house and went up the narrow stairs to an attic-like upstairs where there were about two bedrooms. I believe the cottage belonged to Daniela's parents because all of their stuff was in the house, like souvenir metals that lined the stairs. I sat down on the rocking chair and had simply wonderful hot chocolate/coffee-like drink which warmed my whole body. Then I proceeded to write in a little red leather journal, given to me this past Christmas from Nana Q.
The three, well four including Freddy, took a walk through the forest/village and had a great time. I learned some new words including "tree", "grass", "mud", "sun", "ice", and "blue". Then I had a word, znamsky, stuck in my head and couldn't remember what it meant, so I asked Daniela and she told me it meant stamps. OBVI. I knew that.
I was upset to miss my friends' "writing hangout" at a cafe but the day was worth it and it just makes me thank myself for choosing the homestay 😉.
