Prague, yay. New fav city! Love it, so pretty. Last night we had dinner at the plus hostel then went out to 3 bars. The last club was the biggest one in Europe 5 floors, we danced on the 80's floor most the time. After two hours sleep a few of us set off to the square to check out the sites and for once i wasn't sweating out of my face, there w actually a breeze yay!. W went and saw the palace and did a little shopping then went to the sex museum which was interesting to say the least, then back to the hostel. Im def coming back here its awsome, wish we had more time.... read more

So we arrive in Prague (or to Prague residents - Praha) we had many laughs over that one. Anyway... wandering through the streets of Praha at night, desperately trying to find our hostel, we finally get there, sweaty as usual and joy to the world they have overbooked themselves (love my life). However, they sent us to their twin hostel about 2 miles away - literally luxury (for the amount we payed anyway). We met some great people in Prague. I think this was due to the fact that there was a pub underneath our hostel with insanely cheap beer = no need to go out. On the first night we met some hot guys from Mexico, did I say hot and Mexico, oh yeah I did. They were crazy drinkers. We educated them in the ... read more

There's little I really feel I can write about what I've been upto in my last week in the Czech Republic this summer. I've had a visitor and we've been all over the place, but the idea of "travel blogging" anything since I've returned from Croatia has just seemed silly as then, I really felt I was returning home, rather than just to "where I was staying". So I just don't have anything to say anymore. Going back to London just feels wrong, and I doubt I'll be staying there very long after finally finishing my degree. So all I have left is to share the one thing in Prague which catches my eye the most every time I pass it. There's always something in every city I live in which does. In London, it's the ... read more

What a depressing day. Considering that I'm supposed to be loving every minute of this city, taking photos galore, and wandering around checking things out, I'm finding the rain quite depressing. I'm soaked. I tried to make a go of it this morning, wandering around the castle for a couple of hours in the rain, but I think I may just give up soon and head back to the hostel for the night. The castle grounds are beautiful, but there were people everywhere. It drives me nuts that people walk right in front of you (or right into you!) while you're trying to take a photo. To walk around the grounds was free, but to go into the castle, or to take photos indoors, you had to pay. It was $10 just to enter 5 buildings, ... read more

So... haven't been out of Prague this week, but managed to have one very inspiring cultural afternoon. My friend Jana and I were intent on doing something together today and were planning to try and go out of town, however the weather recently has just been depressing (run away from crap english summer weather and it just follows you, apparently), so it wouldn't have been a good idea. There's been a lot of poster hype around for this temporary installment by "contemporary visual artist" Douglas Gordon at the DOX gallery in Holešovice, which generally looked quite interesting as well, so we decided to go along and see what it was saying. The piece's title was "blood, sweat and tears" and to be honest, we didn't get it at all. It simply featured a load of huge ... read more
