Geo: 43.5127, 16.4424It was a quiet day on board today. I think most people were feeling a bit sad about our sailing trip coming to an end. We set sail this morning towards Split and enjoyed our last view of the mountainous mainland. By mid afternoon we had arrived back at the harbour. I'm sure the town was full of people who were excited to be boarding the boat tomorrow, like myself the week before. We wandered around town for one more look around. For dinner we got a snack and then headed back to the boat to get ready for our last night out. Shona and I were the only ones keen to leave the boat, so we did. After a couple of hours we went back to the boat, wondering where the others were. ... read more

Like the plethora of Croatian alleycats slumped across scorching stones, we are drunk on sunshine. Barely able to manage simple daily tasks, we stumble between the Supermercato and the beach, before crashing, like the cats, for hours, with the sparkling ocean horizon working hard to prop open our heavy eyelids. After 2 weeks travelling all corners of Croatia, we feel we have done the country justice. We've graced nearly every beach, admired clifftop fortresses guarding precious harbours, and joined the oceanside fashionistas by purchasing a couple of sexy fluoro li-lo's... best $2 ever spent. After a false start involving some dead-end Adriatic towns, on a fateful whim we discovered the magical island of Losinj (pronounced "Losheeny"). A quaint harbour village far from the tourist hoards of Dalmatia, Veli Losinj saw us feasting on freshly caught grilled ... read more

Okay, so as you know I am not actually writing this from Plitvice, or even Croatia for that matter. However, I am trying to keep the locations of the blogs I write as congruous as possible. So while I sit here in the internet cafe of our hostel in Prague, I will tell you more about Croatia: So I believe I already told you about the instrument playing, taxidermed animals at the restaurant our bus stopped a before arriving in Plitvice. I also believe I told you about arriving at our guesthouse to be met with homemade brandy called "slivovitz" before heading off for a much needed long-night's-sleep.So, continuing on: Dave and I woke up the next morning to be greeted by a homemade breakfast of pastries, ham, cheese, and coffee. This has actually become a ... read more

Hi everyone!!! So we have been in Dubrovnik for about four days now. It is sooooooo amazing here. The water is literally aqua and all of the buildings are white with pink roofs. The only downside is that our AC broke the first night that we got in and it is literally 90!!!! So needless to say we have been HOT. We took an overnight Ferry from Bari Italy to Dubrovnik and then checked in to our place. WE walked down to the beach and hung out for a while but it was just too hot. The next day we rented a scooter and decided to go around Old Town and we found a run beach, its funny because all of the beaches are little pebbles not sand. Anyway we got pretty tan that day hahha. ... read more
